    1. Once you replace figures with letters,it's simple algebra. Let's say a circle is "x",square is "y" and triangle is "z". Change the equations into ones with letters:
      2x=10
      x*y+y=12
      x*y-z*x=x

      Multiply/divide where needed...
      x=5
      Once you know how much is x,you can search for y:

      xy+y=12
      5y+y=12
      6y=12 /:6
      y=2

      And all we have left is z,the triangle...once having x and y,it's a piece of cake-just replace the right letters in the last equation:

      xy-zx=x
      5*2-z*5=5
      10-5z=5 /+5z
      10=5+5z /-5
      5z=5
      z=1

      Circle=5
      Square=2
      Triangle=1

  2. cirkel + cirkel = 10 dus cirkel =5 => 5 + 5 = 10
    stel vierkant = x => 5*x +x = 12 <=> 5x + 1x = 12 <=> 6x = 12 <=> x= 12/6 <=> x = 2
    vierkant = 2
    stel driehoek = y => 5*2 - y * 5 = 5 <=> 10 - 5y = 5 <=> -5y = -5 <=> y = 1

    1. You write 5.2 - 9.5 = 5 --> I thought in maths you first have to do the multiplication, and afterwards the minus ... so (5.2 ) = 10 and (1.5) = 5

    X + X =10
    2X = 10
    X = 10/2=5
    5*y+y=12
    5y + y =12
    6y=12 y=12/6=2
    5*2-z*5=5
    1st solution 5*2=10-z*5=5 10-z=5/5=1 -z=1-10=-9 z=9
    2nd solution 5*(2-z)*5=5 (10-5z)*5=5 10-5z=5/5 = 1

  7. It can't be 9 because in Algebra you do multiplication first, then addition or subtraction. So you would do 5 x 2 first, then the 2nd half of the equation which is (triangle x 5) before you would subtract them.
